HOUSED IN HISTORIC GRAND CENTRAL STATION, THE GREAT NORTHERN FOOD HALL IS THE AMERICAN INTRODUCTION TO SCANDINAVIAN CHEF CLAUS MEYER. THE DESIGN REPRESENTS A MELDING OF SCANDINAVIAN AND AMERICAN INFLUENCES; A SERIES OF 5 KIOSKS AND 2 BARS WERE DESIGNED TO CREATE A FOOD HALL THAT LOOKS PERMANENT, BUT IS ENTIRELY REMOVABLE, AND SELF SUFFICIENT. MODERN SLATTED WOOD TOWERS HOLD CISTERNS OF WATER FOR COFFEE SERVICE, AND TILE PATTERNS OF COUNTER FRONTS ARE INFLUENCED BY NORDIC SWEATERS.
